Reborn Babies – Why These Life-like Baby Dolls Are So Popular
The hype over baby reborn dolls has been growing steadily over the last one or two years. While the name doesn’t seem to sound “sweet” and some may even think it as outlandish, reborn babies are basically dolls which looks like real newborn babies. They’re typically made of vinyl, and have the same size and weight of a real human baby! The question is why are these dolls becoming so “in” nowadays?
Reborners are artists who make reborn dolls as a hobby, or for a job. Reborners showcase their babies online or sell them infrequently through ebay. They’ve even taken this craft to a different level with the introduction of custom-made reborn dolls, which are essentially reborn babies made with the exact directions of a client. Numerous customers present reborners a photo of a baby they want created. When it is done, a customer may obtain the baby by adoption, a term reborners use to own a reborn baby.
These realistic dolls are most liked by women who cannot bear kids or who haven’t bore children at all. Owning a doll that looks and feels genuine in their arms gives them that transitory satisfaction of becoming a first-time mommy. There’s an argument over this, as some may disagree this behavior is delusional, and merely causes a woman to turn away from the fact that she will not bear kids.
Baby reborn dolls are also very well-liked among parents of youngsters. Parents, particularly first-timers, are soppy over their children’s tiny booties, clothes, and toys. They preserve the mittens, bonnets and layettes in special boxes, intending to keep the sentiment of having a baby in the house. Now, with reborn dolls, they can have their real youngsters grow, while having models of their babies.
Reborn babies seem to be most important among nostalgic and melancholic parents and grandparents. For some, the loss of a baby can be lessened with a doll baby-version. Others who can’t relate to the idea of parenting just buy these reborns for their collection.

Choose Your Newborn Baby Toy With Care
One endearing trait that all newborn babies are born with is that they have an innate curiosity regarding their immediate surrounding. It is a lot of fun for parents to notice how their newborn baby study faces of all those who come within their viewing range. In addition, babies are also very intrigued by sights, sounds and the lights around them. To help a newborn baby develop properly, you as a parent must be able to provide your newborn baby with some useful newborn baby toys.
Stimulate the Mind
A well chosen newborn baby toy plays an important role in stimulating the baby’s mind, lays a strong foundation and promotes healthier growth as well as leads to the better all round development of the baby. No doubt, newborn babies spend a lot of time in sleeping and eating and it is also not unusual for them to sleep for between fourteen and sixteen hours in a day.
You can however make their waking hours more enjoyable by placing properly chosen newborn baby toys around their crib as these will help provide the baby with a good source of distraction and allow him or her to enjoy their waking moments a lot more.
As far as newborn baby toys go, it has been found that you need to place the toys at a distance that ideally is anything between eight and fourteen inches in front of the baby. If the toys are also made from bright as well as bold colors (primary) and have some patterns that contrast vividly, it would make a strong impression on the baby as well as help to stimulate the baby’s imagination.
You should also choose newborn baby toys that can move and which also emit sounds as these features help to fuel the baby’s curiosity and also helps keep them entertained. Though the newborn baby may not be old enough to hold a rattle and play with it by themselves; they will enjoy being entertained by the movement and sound of the toys.
There are also certain newborn baby toys such as a Baby Shakespeare Peek-A-Boo Mirror which help enhance the baby’s natural enchantment with faces, and such toys are almost always instant hits with most babies.
Ensuring a baby’s health places a huge responsibility on the shoulders of every parent. Toys play a vital role in the development of every newborn baby who, even at a very young age can learn things very easily. By selecting an appropriate newborn baby toy, parents can ensure that their baby gets to develop along the right lines and it can perhaps even help the baby use their logic as well as improve their skills at solving problems.

Baby Blankets for your Baby’s Comfort
Baby blankets are essential for the wellbeing of newborn babies because they are still not fully developed and as such are prone to catching cold and getting infected with virus and diseases easily. The babies need to be protected all the time and wrapping a blanket is the best way of taking care of your baby. You should also make sure that the blanket provide sufficient warmth and be soft on the baby’s tender skin. Moreover, it should be lightweight so that it does not exert too much pressure on the child.
Baby Blankets Made Of Fleece Are Ideal
Fleece baby blankets answer all the requirements as stipulated above. They provide the right amount of warmth and coziness to the baby and are soft to touch. Fleece is very light and is available in many colors. The babies remain comfortable in fleece baby blankets for a long period of time. These blankets are relatively inexpensive and are ideal for being given as gifts for newborn babies. It’s also possible to give a personal touch to these baby blankets when you are giving them as gifts by writing the baby’s name and its date of birth.

As compared to woolen or woven blankets, baby blankets made from fleece provide greater warmth and comfort to babies. The main reason is that fleece soaks up moisture and keeps the babies dry.

J R Perry Sickle Cell Message
While there is a lot of information published on Sickle Cell Disease, there is comparatively less on the person with the disease. Cure Every Cell – A Sickle Cell Support Group aims to correct this and be as complete a resource to the Sickle Cell Disease Patient as possible Did you know that African Americans are not the only people who get sickle cell disease? Sickle cell disease affects millions of people throughout the world and is particularly common among people whose ancestors come from sub-Saharan Africa, Spanish-speaking regions in the Western Hemisphere (South America, Cuba, and Central America), Saudi Arabia, India, and Mediterranean countries such as Turkey, Greece, and Italy. Because of this, hospitals in the United States screen all newborn babies for sickle cell disease Did you know that a woman with sickle cell disease can have a healthy pregnancy? Women with sickle cell disease can have a healthy pregnancy, but need to be extra careful to avoid problems during pregnancy that can affect their own health and the health of the unborn baby. The disease may become more severe and pain episodes may occur more frequently. There is a higher risk of preterm labor and of having a low-birthweight baby. However, with early prenatal care and careful monitoring throughout pregnancy, women with sickle cell disease can have a healthy pregnancy. During pregnancy, there is a test to find out if the unborn baby will have sickle cell disease, sickle cell trait, or neither one. The test is usually conducted after the second month of pregnancy. Women with sickle cell disease might want to see a genetic counselor to find information about the disease and the chances that sickle cell disease will be passed to the baby. Did you know that people with sickle cell disease need to have their vision checked more often that people who do not have sickle cell disease? Vision loss, including blindness, can occur when blood vessels in the eye become blocked with sickle cells and the retina (the thin layer of tissue inside the back of the eye) gets damaged. People with sickle cell disease should have their eyes checked every year to look for damage to the retina. If possible, this should be done by an eye doctor who specializes in diseases of the retina. If the retina is damaged, laser treatment often can prevent further vision loss. Did you know that there are different types of sickle cell disease? There are several different types of sickle cell disease. People who inherit two sickle cell genes, one from each parent, have a type of sickle cell disease called SS. This is commonly called “sickle cell anemia” and is usually the most severe form of the disease. People who inherit a sickle cell gene from one parent and a gene for another type of abnormal hemoglobin (hemoglobin is a protein that allows red blood cells to carry oxygen to all parts of the body) from the other parent, have a different type of sickle cell disease. Some types of sickle cell disease are very severe and some are milder. The disease affects each person differently People With Sickle Cell disease Need Better Services The relation between patients with sickle cell disease and hospital services is one of several major non-clinical dimensions shaping experiences of pain management and behavior for seeking health care. Experiences of hospital care show a range of interrelated themes, which are common to most participants across variables of sex, ethnicity, and hospital attended: mistrust of patients with sickle cell disease; stigmatisation; excessive control (including both over- and undertreatment of pain); and neglect. Individuals respond to the challenge of negotiating care with various strategies. Patients with sickle cell disease who are frequently admitted to hospital may try to develop long term relationships with their careers, may become passive or aggressive in their interactions with health professionals, or may regularly attend different hospitals. Those individuals who usually manage their pain at home express a strong sense of self responsibility for their management of pain and advocate self education, assertiveness, and resistance as strategies towards hospital services. Conclusions: The current organization and delivery of management of pain for sickle cell crisis discourage self reliance and encourage hospital dependence. Models of care should recognize the chronic nature of sickle cell disorders and prioritize patients involvement in their care. Endnotes Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) affects more people in the world than any other genetic disease. Globally, almost one-half million babies die from SCD each year J R Perry Cure Every Cell A Sickle Cell Support Group www.myspace.com/jrperry3 jrperry3@yahoo.com “Let The Truth Be Told” NOT TO BE REPRODUCED WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION intellectual property copyrights … 1999-2010 “All Rights Reserved”

Becoming The Smart Knowledgeable Doctors
Many people ask themselves whether they want to become a doctor or not. It can be a rewarding experience, but it does take diligence in completing the process. Continuing to work in the profession for a lifetime also takes a lot of patience because as a doctor, one can become involved in a lot of stressful situations. This will be an article on the life of doctors.
Most people know that it takes some intelligence to go into medicine, but it also involves quite a bit of diligence to deal with some of the long hard days that can be encountered on a daily basis. Depending on what kind of doctor one chooses to become, many physicians will run into their fair share of sick patients. This patients will not need a quick fix but a lot of caring attention which can take a toll for those days or weeks that patient needs care.
Much of the knowledge one learned about many diseases will be learned in medical school, and these students will move on to residency training. This is where they will get a large portion of their knowledge on how to take care of patients in the hospital. This is all valuable because then this is what the person will use to continue their practices.
They will learn how to make the correct diagnosis and the intricacies of managing treatments for multiple patients. A doctor will begin to see for themselves how patients present with different diseases. They can see how one disease in the same area as another might be the same or different. It does take diligent reading, but it also takes good observation.
Another special thing that doctors do is try to keep up on what new techniques or treatments are out there being developed. Many doctors try to find treatments that might be suitable specifically for their own patient cases.
There are many different avenues one can go down as a doctor. Some people like the traditional medicine of family practice, and some want to take care of women having newborn babies. It all has to do with the personalities of different people. Getting to know these individuals in the specific departments can help decipher what profession would be good to follow.
Each different profession has different requirements of their residents. People who like surgery will be spending days in the operating room. One can ask themselves if they enjoy that. Some people like seeing patients on an as needed basis like doctors in the emergency room. They will treat their patient, and they may not see them again.
Being a doctor does not encompass all doctors. Physicians go into the profession with different intents, but their main goal is to help improve the health of their patients. They all work together with that main goal, and people who are dedicated to do so should achieve their goal. One should look into the process, and they should examine what they really want to do on top of studying hard.

Jaundice in a newborn baby
NEONATAL JAUNDICE is a yellowing of the skin in newborn babies. Jaundice can be either physiological or pathological/non-physiological . Physiological jaundice is the most common and will usually resolve on its own. Because pathological jaundice will not resolve on its own, all cases of neonatal jaundice should be evaluated by a doctor to see if ultraviolet light treatment(phototherapy) is necessary. In some rare cases, jaundice can result in seizures or brain damage (kernicterus) if bilirubin levels get to high and pass the blood brain barrier.
WHAT IS JAUNDICE?
Jaundice in newborns is very common, because newborn babies have a high red blood cell count, which increases their bilirubin level. Bilirubin is a yellowish red pigment and one of the end products of the breakdown of red blood cells. Jaundice is more common in premature infants than in full-term infants. The world Jaundice comes from the french word “jaune”, meaning yellow.
Doctors use the time when jaundice is first noticed to help diagnose which type of jaundice the baby has. Often, physiologic jaundice occurs two or three days after birth. Non-physiologic jaundice usually occurs within 24 hours of birth. If jaundice occurs a couple weeks after the baby is born, it may be due to breast milk jaundice.
Your doctor may test your baby for hyperbilirubinemia, and take red blood cell counts and test for Rh incompatibility (Coomb’s test). This can help rule out types of non-physiologic jaundice. If your baby has jaundice, the doctor Read the rest of this entry »
Your Baby Should Sleep on Her Back

You want to keep your baby safe when she sleeps. Most babies are healthy and have no problems when sleeping. But sometimes babies die in their sleep. This is called the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) or crib death. Doctors have not found out what causes SIDS.
Research shows that babies who sleep on their backs are less likely to die from SIDS. If your baby has a health problem, your doctor may tell you to put her in another position. Otherwise, always put your baby to sleep on her back.
Other factors in lowering the danger of SIDS are:
Breastfeeding–Your breast milk is the perfect food for your baby. Breast milk helps protect your baby from many illnesses, as well as SIDS. Smoke-free environment–Don’t smoke around your baby. Don’t take her around others who smoke. Babies in smoke-free homes have fewer colds and infections. Closeness–Keep your sleeping baby nearby. It’s good for your baby to learn to sleep in her own crib. Be sure you can hear her if she cries or is in distress. Bedding–Be sure your baby is sleeping on a firm mattress. Don’t put your baby to sleep on soft or fluffy things, such as a pillow, quilt or waterbed. Keep stuffed animals out of the crib at sleep time. Temperature–Make sure your baby is warm but not too hot. Doctor visits–Take your baby in for her regular checkups. Any time your baby seems sick or has trouble breathing, take her to the doctor or clinic.

Acne – Promise Fresh Skin And Glowing Look To Your Little Baby
You might just have had a newborn baby but discovered acne lesions on his/her cheeks. You are feeling quite lost and disoriented with the results. Right? Do not worry. Baby acne can be treated quite effectively. The various treatments will not only reduce the acne lesions but also remove the scars permanently from your baby’s face. To treat baby acne better, you should know what it is; the causes for it and the treatments that will cure baby acne.
There are two types of acne that can occur in the face and body of the baby. The first type is called neonatal milia, which are like multiple tiny whiteheads on the face of the newborn babies. These typical pimples occur more due to hormonal stimulation but reduce after a few days. The other type called the infantile acne occurs usually around the 3rd or 4th month of the baby and looks like regular adult acne with whiteheads, blackheads, pustules and pimples. This type can last for at least 2 to 3 years. Either of these baby acne types is not at all dangerous but in most of the cases they might leave severe scar impressions on the face of the baby. So you should treat them to reduce acne in your baby.
Cause of baby acne
Baby acne is more commonly known as “acne neonatorum” and comes as an eruption on the cheeks. It is basically the reaction of the baby’s skin to a relative Read the rest of this entry »
